Govt. Vijay Bhushan Singh Deo Girls PG College

Jashpur Nagar, District- Jashpur, Chhattisgarh, India - 496331

The college is situated in a beautiful place Jashpur which is one of the districts of Chhattisgarh and is surrounded by natural beauty and is very rich from the biodiversity point of view. It lies between 22017'N- 23015'N and 83030'E-84024'E and is situated in the North eastern part of the state at an elevation of 2500 to 3500 feet. It is bounded on its east by Gumla district of Jharkhand and Sarguja district and on the south by Sundargarh district of Odisha and Raigarh district. Jashpur is a tribe dominating district where tribal population imparts more than 60% of total population of the district. The tribes residing in the district are Oraon, Korwa, Birhor, Gond, Nagesia etc.

The college is now well known as Govt. Vijay Bhushan Singh Deo Girls PG College, Jashpur on behalf of the name of last king Vijay Bhushan Singh Deo of Jashpur. The college was established in 1987 with its first Principal Dr. B.P. Panda and ten students in a small room of Govt. NES College, Jashpur for fulfilling the educational requirements of the girls of the area. The experience of Dr. Panda played very important role for the primary establishment of the college. In 1988-89 the college was shifted to officers club building and in 1999 by the order of District administration to Model School, Jashpur building.
